Overview
The 2006 Cooper returns this year available in three trims, base, S, and S GP, in either a convertible or hatchback bodystyle. The base model comes with a four-cylinder 1.6-liter engine with a five-speed manual transmission, whereas the S models come with a 1.6-liter supercharged engine with a six-speed manual transmission. Standard features include keyless remote entry, AM/FM stereo with CD, climate control glove box, leatherette bucket seats, front curtain air bags, and a tire pressure monitor system. Optional equipment includes a navigation system, on-board computer, and a Harman Kardon radio system. A Premium Package and Sport Package are also available as an option in all models. Both the Base and S convertibles come equipped with and automatic power soft top.
