Overview
The GMC Sierra Classic 2500 HD Crew Cab SLE 4WD Short Bed last had a manufacturer update on 01/22/2007. The 2006 Sierra 2500 HD Crew Cab returns for 2007 rebadged as the Sierra Classic 2500 HD Crew Cab. It remains available in eight models: Work Truck, SL, SLE, and SLT trim in either 2WD or 4WD configurations. A 6.0L 300-hp Vortec V-8 engine mated to either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission is available as standard equipment on all Crew Cab models. A 330 horsepower 8.1L V8 engine or a 6.6L Duramax turbocharged V-8 diesel engine producing 360 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque are also available. Available with the optional engines are a five-speed manual transmission or an Allison six-speed automatic transmission. Several options are available, including XM Satellite Radio and OnStar Communications system. The GMC Sierra Classic 2500 HD Crew Cab SLE 4WD Short Bed saw minor changes in 2003, and is expected to be redesigned in 2008.
