Overview
The GMC Sierra Classic 3500 Extended Cab SLT 2WD DRW last had a manufacturer update on 01/22/2007. The 2006 Sierra 3500 Extended Cab returns for 2007 rebadged as the Sierra Classic 3500 Extended Cab. It remains available in eight models: Work Truck, Base, SLE, and SLT trim in either 2WD or 4WD configurations. A powertrain consisting of a 6.0L 300-hp Vortec V-8 engine mated to either a four-speed automatic transmission is available as standard equipment on all Extended Cab models. A 330 horsepower 8.1L V8 engine or a 6.6L Duramax turbocharged V-8 diesel engine producing 360 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque are also available. Available with the optional engines are a five-speed manual transmission or an Allison six-speed automatic transmission. Several options are available, including XM Satellite Radio and OnStar Communications system. The GMC Sierra Classic 3500 Extended Cab SLT 2WD DRW saw minor changes in 2003, and is expected to be redesigned in 2008.
