Overview

The 2006 Sierra 1500 Extended Cab returns for 2007 rebadged as the Sierra Classic 1500 Extended Cab. It remains available in nine models: Work Truck, SL, SLE, SLE Hybrid, and SLT trim in either 2WD or 4WD configurations. Engine choices range from a 4.3L V6 that generates 195 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque to a High Output 6.0L V8 engine producing 345 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. The SLE Hybrid's are equipped with a Vortec 5.3L V8 engine coupled with a compact 14-kw electric induction motor. All engines are mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Several options are available, including power glass moonroof, XM Satellite Radio, OnStar Communications system and dual zone automatic climate control.
