Overview

The 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Regular Cab returns for 2007 rebadged as the Silverado Classic 2500 HD Regular Cab. It remains available in six models: Work Truck, LS, and LT trims in either 2WD or 4WD. A powertrain consisting of a 6.0L 300-hp Vortec V-8 engine mated to a four-speed automatic transmission is available as standard equipment on most Regular Cab models. A 330 horsepower 8.1L V8 engine or a 6.6L Duramax turbocharged V-8 diesel engine producing 360 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque are also available. Available with the optional engines are a five-speed manual transmission or an Allison six-speed automatic transmission. The Chevrolet Silverado Classic 2500 HD Regular Cab LT 2WD saw minor changes in 2003, and is expected to be redesigned in 2008.
