Overview
The Mercury Mountaineer 2WD last had a manufacturer update on 04/30/2007. Mercury's midsize sport utility enters 2007 with only a few changes and is available in six trims: Base, Premier 4.0L, and Premier 4.6L, all in either 2WD or 4WD versions. The Mountaineer offers two powertrain choices, a 210-hp 4.0L V6 engine coupled to a five-speed automatic transmission or a 292-hp 4.6L V8 engine matched with a six-speed automatic transmission. Revisions for this year include new standard equipment, such as the Safety Canopy side airbags and an auxiliary audio input jack. Also new, a heated windshield feature is now optional, while the DVE system receives a larger eight-inch screen. Rounding off the list of changes for 2007 is the addition of three new exterior colors: White Chocolate, Alloy, and Dark Cherry. The Mercury Mountaineer 2WD saw minor changes in 2006; no information is currently available on upcoming changes..
