Overview
The GMC Sierra Classic 1500 Regular Cab SL 2WD Short Bed last had a manufacturer update on 01/22/2007. The 2006 Sierra 1500 Regular Cab returns for 2007 rebadged as the Sierra Classic 1500 Regular Cab. It remains available in six models: Work Truck, SL, and SLE trim in either 2WD or 4WD configurations. The Work Truck and SL 2WD models are powered by a Vortec 4.3L V6 that produces 200 horsepower. A Vortec 4.8L V8 generating 285 horsepower is available as standard equipment on all other models. A 5.3L V8 engine is available as an option on all models. All engines are mated to either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic transmission. Safety features include four-wheel anti-lock brakes, driver and passenger airbags, and daytime running lights. Several options are available, including XM Satellite Radio and OnStar Communications system. The GMC Sierra Classic 1500 Regular Cab SL 2WD Short Bed saw minor changes in 2003, and is expected to be redesigned in 2008.
