Overview

The Ford Explorer Limited 4WD w/4.0L Engine last had a manufacturer update on 04/30/2007. The Ford Explorer returns for 2007 with a few upgrades. In keeping with Ford's new simplified series strategy, the Explorer is available in three trims: XLT, Eddie Bauer, and Limited in either 2WD or 4WD configurations. Engine choices include a 210 horsepower 4.0L V6 engine or the more powerful 4.6L V8 engine that produces 292 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. The 4.0L V6 is mated to a five-speed automatic while the 4.6L V8 is matted to a six-speed automatic transmission. The Eddie Bauer and Limited models are now equipped with Safety Canopy side curtain air bags as standard equipment. New standard features added to the Limited models include auxiliary air conditioning, Reverse sensing System, and 18-inch machined aluminum wheels.
