Overview
The Ford Escape XLT Sport 2WD last had a manufacturer update on 10/01/2006. The Escape enters 2007 with a refreshed exterior, featuring a front end that looks more like the redesigned Edge and Excursion. Ford's small SUV is again available in several trims, including XLS, XLT, XLT Sport, Limited, and the gas-saving Hybrid. All trims are available in 2WD or 4WD configurations, and powered by either a 2.3L inline-four, a 200-hp 3.0L V6, or a 2.3L Hybrid engine. Standard equipment across the board includes anti-lock brakes, keyless entry remote, power convenience features, a tire pressure monitoring system, and an MP3-compatible radio. The optional Luxury Comfort Packages adds heated seats and mirrors, rear parking sensors, and a Audiophile stereo system with a six-disc CD changer and seven speakers. The Ford Escape XLT Sport 2WD was introduced in 2001, and minor changes are expected in 2008.
