Overview
The MINI Cooper last had a manufacturer update on 07/01/2007. MINI's mini-compact car returns completely redesigned for 2007, including revamped engines, improved fuel economy, more interior room, additional equipment, and several mechanical enhancements. The second-generation Cooper is available in base or S, and in either hatchback or convertible bodystyles. The base engine is the BMW-powered 120-hp 1.6L I-4, while the Cooper S boasts a 175-hp turbocharged version. Both engines can be matted to either the standard six-speed manual transmission or the optional paddle-shift automatic transmission. Safety equipment on the Cooper includes ABS brakes, stability control, six standard airbags, and a tire pressure monitoring system with run-flat equipped tires. The MINI Cooper was last redesigned in 2005 and the next major change is expected in 2010.
