Overview
For 2007, the Volkswagen Passat wagon returns as an all-new model. It is available in four trims: Value Edition, 2.0T, 3.6 and 3.6 4MOTION. Overall, the new Passat is only slightly larger, but with a redesigned and more functional interior, it gains nearly 2.5-inches of rear seat legroom. The new design is marked by a "medallion-shaped" grille with high-tech headlamp treatments. The base 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine has been upgraded to produce 200 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque while the revised 3.6L V6 engine generates 280 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque. All engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic and sport mode selection. The rear suspension is now an independent multi-link for improved ride and handling. The Volkswagen Passat Value Edition was last redesigned in 2007; no information is currently available on upcoming changes.
