Overview

For 2006, the GMC Yukon is carried over from the previous year with only minor refinements. The Yukon is offered in a short or long wheelbase (Yukon XL) and comes in 2WD, 4WD, and AWD (Denali). Available trims include Base, SLE, SLT, and Denali. Existing powertrain choices include a 5.3L V8, a 6.0L V8 (high output Vortec producing 335-hp, exclusive to Denali), an 8.1L V8, and for 2006, a 5.3L Flex Fuel version. Updates for this year include a single integrated OnStar/XM satellite antenna, improved emission performance, a standard tire pressuring system on 2500 (3/4 Ton) models, available power adjustable pedals, and optional extendable power-adjustable camper mirrors. This is the final model year in the current generation.
