Overview
Ford introduces the all-new Fusion for 2006. This mid-size sedan can be equipped with either the 160-hp 2.3L I-4 engine or the more powerful 3.0L V-6, which produces 221 horsepower. Five-speed manual or automatic transmission choices are available with the base engine, while the V-6 engine is paired a six-speed automatic. The 2.3L engine boasts a Partial Zero Emission Vehicle (PZEV) rating. High-end options are also offered, including a six-disc CD changer with MP3 capability, heated seats, and a tilt-and-telescope steering wheel. The Fusion, Ford's first fully "digital" car, was completely designed, engineered, and tested in a digital environment. The Mercury Milan and Lincoln Zephyr are based of the same platform.
