Overview

Toyota's small pick-up returns for 2006 with added safety features. Available in Regular, Access, and Double cab, the Tacoma receives standard dual-stage airbags, as well as a tire pressure monitor system. Other standard safety equipment includes anti-lock brakes, brake-force distribution, and brake assist. The Tacoma offers two engine choices, the base 159-hp 2.7L I-4 engine and the larger 4.0L V6, which produces 236 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. The optional TRD packages add features such as unique fog lights, specialized shock absorbers and springs, lower-profile tires, a hood scoop, and TRD graphics and trim. The dealer-installed high-performance Big Brake system can also be equipped.
