Overview
The Silverado 2500 HD Regular Cab returns for 2006 with little change. Some of the changes include a new front-end appearance, more horsepower and torque on the Duramax 6600 diesel engine, and a new Allison six-speed tap shift automatic transmission. The optional 6.6L Duramax turbocharged V-8 diesel engine has increased in horsepower going from 300 hp to 360 hp with also an increase in torque moving from 520 lb-ft of torque to 650 lb-ft of torque. The 2500 HD Regular Cab is available in six models: Work Truck, Base, and LS trims in either 2WD or 4WD configurations. A 6.0L 300-hp Vortec V-8 engine mated to either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission is available as standard equipment on all Regular Cab models.
