Overview

For 2006, the Subaru Impreza has been restyled and is available in 10 models--2.5i (previously the RS), Base WRX, WRX TR, WRX Limited, and WRX STI sedans; and 2.5i, Outback Sport, Outback Sport Special Edition and WRX wagons. Three of the WRX models are new to the line-up this year. Changes include the new signature front-end styling (a three section mesh-type grille), wider body fenders on the sedans, and an enhanced AWD system on the WRX STI. All WRX models feature a new engine and a significant increase in performance. The larger displacement 230-hp 2.5L engine produces 235 lb.-ft of torque at 3600 rpm. Special Edition models come with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass, and an upgraded sound system.
