Overview

The completely redesigned in 2005, the Frontier returns for 2006 with only minor updates. The Frontier is available in four trims: XE, SE, Nismo, and LE, two body styles: King Cab or Crew Cab, and in 2WD or 4WD driveline configurations. New updates include a new Power Package on the King Cab XE, satin ring accents around gauges and chrome vent trims on the Nismo and LE models, and a new Satellite Radio Package on all models. All models except the XE trim are powered by a 4.0L DOHC V6 engine, producing 265 hp and 284 lb-ft of torque. The XE is equipped with a 154 hp four cylinder engine mated to either a five-speed manual or automatic transmission. There are three new exterior colors for this model year: Red Alert, Red Brawn, and Majestic Blue.
