Overview

For 2006, the Altima returns with minimal changes. The Altima is available in several trims including 2.5 Base, 2.5 S, 3.5 SE, 3.5 SL and SE-R. There are four new packages available: 2.5 Special Edition Package, Special Edition Premium Package, Comfort Package, and Trip Package. Another new option is a satellite radio with a choice of XM or Sirius providers. Engine choices remain between either the 175 horsepower 2.5L four-cylinder engine on the 2.5 models and the 250 horsepower 3.5L V6 engine on the 3.5 models. The SE-R is equipped with a similar 3.5L V6 engine but tuned to produce 260 horsepower. The SE-R also sports 18-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, performance suspension, and leather sport bucket seats. A navigation system is also available.
