Overview

The 2006 Lancer has many new revisions for this year. The Lancer is available in seven models: ES, SE, O-Z Rally, Ralliart, and Evolution RS, IX, and MR. New enhancements include an exterior front redesign that includes a new grille and front fascia, and bumper. New Safety features include advanced safety air bags, day time running lights and optional side impact air bags. Standard on the ES, SE, and OZ Rally models is a 120 hp 2.0L SOHC in-line four-cylinder engine, while the Ralliart is equipped with a slightly larger 162 hp 2.4L in-line four-cylinder engine. Both engines are mated to either a four speed automatic or a five speed manual transmission. The Evolution models receive a re-tuned 2.0L turbocharged in-line four-cylinder engine that now produces 286 hp and 289 lb-ft of torque.
