Overview

Mazda's sports coupe returns for 2006 with no major changes. The RX-8 is again equipped with the RENESIS 1.3L rotary engine, which produces 212 horsepower with the six-speed sport automatic transmission and 232 horsepower with the six-speed manual transmission. Standard features across the board include a stereo system with a CD player and SIRIUS Satellite radio compatibility, front and side-impact airbags, and keyless entry remote. Manual transmission models add 18-inch alloy wheels, larger brakes, a torque-sensing limited-slip differential, and a sport-tuned suspension. Several option packages are available, including such features as Xenon lights, body enhancements, a Bose stereo system, leather heated seats, and a power glass moonroof.
