Overview
The Honda Insight returns for 2006 with no new changes. The Insight remains the most fuel-efficient EPA rated vehicle in the United States. The Insight powertrain consists of an Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) system that combines a 1.0L VTEC three-cylinder engine with a lightweight electric motor. The result is an engine that produces 73 hp with manual transmission and 71 horsepower with CVT transmission. The EPA still rates the Insights fuel economy at 60 mpg city and 66 mpg highway (manual transmission) and 57 mpg city and 56 mpg highway (CVT). Standard features on the Insight include anti-lock brakes, power windows and mirrors, power door locks, and keyless entry system. The only option available on the Insight remains automatic climate control.
