Overview

For 2006, the Canyon returns with a few updates. Some of the updates include the addition of a passenger sensing air bag system and a ZQ8 Sport Suspension Package, the SLT Package is now available on Extended and Crew Cab models, traction control now includes locking differential, the OnStar system has been updated with hands-free capability, and a new Superior Blue Metallic exterior color. Extended Cab versions are available in six models: Work Truck, SL and SLE trim, in either 2WD or 4WD configuration A 2.8L 175 horsepower in-line four-cylinder engine remains standard on all models, while a 220 horsepower 3.5L in-line five-cylinder engine is available as an option. All engines are mated to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission.
