Overview

The Mustang is available in coupe or convertible bodystyles and is offered in five trims: Standard, Deluxe, Premium, GT Deluxe, and GT Premium. All models come with a V6 or V8 engine paired with a five-speed manual or automatic transmission. Standard features on the V6 include powered windows, locks, doors, CD player, and keyless entry. A new feature for 2006 is the Pony Package, which features larger wheels and tires, a custom grille with fog lamps, ABS brakes, and Pony Emblems. The Mustang GT is now available with 18-inch wheels and tires and unique suspension tuning. Two new colors are also offered, Vista Blue and Tungsten Grey. Later in the model year a darker aluminum interior upgrade will also be available.
