Overview
The 2006 Legacy is available in sedan or wagon bodystyles in four different trims: 2.5i, 2.5i Limited, 2.5 GT Limited, and 2.5GT spec.b. The 2.5 GT models have been discontinued for this model year. The 2.5L four-cylinder engines on the 2.5i models receive a new i-Active Valve Lift system that increases the horsepower from 168 to 175. The same engine also becomes Partial Zero Emissions Vehicles (PZEV) compliant. The 2.5 GT Limited remains equipped with the 250 horsepower 2.5L Turbocharged four-cylinder engine. New standard equipment on the 2.5i models includes 17-inch alloy wheels, larger brakes, and an engine immobilizer security function. A four-speed automatic transmission with SportShift is now standard on all 2.5i Limited models.
