Overview

The Galant returns for 2006 with no major changes and is again available in five trim levels: DE, ES, SE, LS, and GTS. The base 2.4L I-4 engine powers the DE, ES, and SE trims, while the LS and GTS receive the more powerful 3.8L V6. The two higher-end models offer a four-speed automatic transmission with clutchless manual shifting in Sportronic mode. Standard equipment across the board includes premium wheels, a CD player, keyless entry remote, and power convenience features. Available options include leather heated seats, upgraded eight-speaker sound system with MP3 capabilities, ABS brakes, and a tire pressure monitoring system. All Galant's come equipped with standard dual-stage front air bags and side impact air bags.
