Overview

Due to launch a larger, more powerful, redesigned X5 with next years production model, BMW brings back it's intermediate utility unchanged for 2006. The X5 is again available in three engine choices: the base 3.0L I-6, the 315-hp 4.4L V8, and the 4.8L V8, which produces 355 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The 3.0i offers either a six-speed manual or five-speed Steptronic automatic transmission, while both the 4.4i and 4.8is come equipped with a standard six-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. Other standard luxury amenities include premium wheels, traction control, dual-zone automatic climate control, and memory convenience features. Available options include the BMW Assist communication system, a retractable load floor, and panorama power glass moonroof.
