Overview

The Audi A6 returns for 2006 with two new models and a few standard and optional feature updates. The A6 is now available in four models: 3.2 sedan, 3.2 Quattro sedan, 3.2 Avant Quattro, and 4.2 Quattro sedan. The A6 remains powered by either a 255 horsepower 3.2L V6 engine or a 335 horsepower 4.2L V8 engine. Both engines are mated to a six-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. A tire pressure monitoring system is now standard on all models. Other feature updates include the availability of the S-line package on the 3.2 models, front heated seats are standard on the 3.2 Avant and 4.2 models, and the Bose surround sound system is standard on the 4.2 sedan. Adaptive cruise control and adaptive air suspension are new option features for this model year.
