Overview

For 2006, Mercury moves into the new environment and fuel conscience group by offering the Mariner Hybrid. Mercury's first Hybrid vehicle features all the same equipment as its gas engine counterpart, but replaces the powertrain with a 2.3L Atkinson-cycle engine with Permanent-Magnet electric motor fitted to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The Mariner is offered in three trim packages, Base, Premium, and Safety. Standard features across the board include a six-disc CD changer, 16-inch aluminum wheels, keyless entry remote, fog lights, and a vehicle alarm system. Available options include a power moonroof, a navigation system, heated front seats, reverse parking aid, and side curtain airbags.
