Overview

Introduced as a brand new model last year, the Mariner returns for 2006 as a carryover. Based on the Ford Escape, the Mariner is again available in either 2WD or 4WD and in three trims levels: Convenience, Luxury, and Premier. Powertrain choices include a 2.3L I-4 or the Duratec 3.0L V-6, both matted to a four-speed automatic transmission. Standard equipment includes aluminum wheels, ABS brakes, a CD player, fog lights, power convenience features, and cruise control. Higher trims upgrade by adding a six-disc CD changer, privacy glass, an alarm system, a premium sound system, and heated power seats. Available options include the Intelligent 4WD system, a reverse aid parking system, and side impact air bags.
