Overview

For 2006, Mazda introduces the Mazda5. A cross between a wagon and a mini-van, the Mazda5 is available in two models: Sport and Touring. The drivetrain consist of a 2.3L four-cylinder engine, generating 157 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque, mated to a standard five-speed manual transmission or an optional four-speed sport automatic transmission. The rear passenger side doors slide open to allow for easy access. With a pair of bucket seats in the second row and a folding third row bench seat, the Mazda5 seats up to six people. Both rows of seats can be folded flat for larger cargo space. The touring Model upgrades the Sport model with body colored side mirrors, fog lights, rear liftgate, auto climate controls, and an in-dash six disc CD changer audio system with six speakers.
