Overview
For 2005, the Sportage returns after two years of absence from the automotive scene. The redesigned Sportage returns with two trim lines, EX and LX, available in 2WD or 4WD models. The LX 2WD is available with the 140- hp 2.0L engine paired to a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmissions. Or the 2.7L V6, 173hp, paired to the four speed automatic. The LX 4WD 2.0L model is only available with the five-speed manual transmission. The other trims feature the 2.7L V6 engine with a four-speed automatic transmission. New safety features include six airbags: two front, two side, and two full length side. New features include a drop and fold seating system, 16-inch alloy wheels, and ABS brakes. Features on the 4WD models include traction control and an electronic stability system.
