Overview
For 2005, the Mazda3 returns unchanged after making its debut last year. Models include the Mazda3 i sedan, Mazda3 s sedan and hatchback, and Mazda3 sp sedan and hatchback. The Mazda3 i features a 2.0L engine that produces 148 horsepower and is coupled to a five-speed manual transmission. The Mazda3 s is equipped with a more powerful 2.3L engine producing 160 horsepower. A four-speed automatic transmission with sport mode is optional on all models. All models are available with the ABS and an Air Bag Package featuring ABS brakes and side impact and head curtain air bags. For a sportier appearance, the Mazda3 s hatchback is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, and side sill extensions. In addition, the interior of the Mazda3 s features silver trim and electroluminescent gauges.
