For 2005, Toyota introduces the all-new Tacoma. The Tacoma is available in three cab types – regular cab, access cab, and double cab. Two new engines are now available: a 2.7L in-line four cylinder engine producing 164 hp and 183lb-ft of torque and a 4.0L V6 that generates 245 hp and 282 lb-ft of torque. Two new transmissions, a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic, are available on the V6 models. For people who want a 2WD truck with the look and ride height of a 4WD truck can order the Pre-Runner models. New safety improvements include anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist as standard equipment on all models. The sporty X-Runner model adds a lowered suspension, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a ground effects package with hood scoop.
