Overview
For 2005, the Mitsubishi Galant returns after being completely redesigned for 2004. The Galant is available in five trims - DE, ES, SE, LS V6, and GTS V6. The DE and LS models feature a 160 hp four-cylinder engine, while the V6 models come with a 3.8L engine that produces 230 hp. This engine is coupled to a steptronic automatic transmission that offers dynamic manual shifting by using a lever that shifts it into Sport Mode. Standard safety equipment on all Galant models includes dual-stage airbags, a trunk entrapment release handle, a theft deterrent system, a keyless entry system, and front and rear crumple zones. The GTS includes such standard features as Titanium interior trim, blue LED instrumentation, a rear spoiler, 17-inch wheels, and leather seating.
