Overview

The Passat returns for 2005 with only minor changes. It is available in sedan or wagon and in four different trim selections: GL, GLS, and GLX. The W8 has been dropped from the lineup. New 16-inch "Rockstar" alloy wheels replace the old 15-inch wheels on the GLS models. 4MOTION, Volkswagen's all-wheel drive system, is offered on the GLS and GLX trims. Options available on all models include a Smokers Package, mud flaps and a 6-disc CD changer located in the trunk. The GLS can be upgraded with new 17-inch "Bistar" alloy wheels, an OnStar Telematics Communication System, and a Leather Package containing leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering and rear sunshades on sedan models. Paint combinations have been revised for this year.
