Overview
Mercury's mid-size SUV returns for this year with several revisions. The Mountaineer is again available in 2WD or AWD configurations, and in three trims: Convenience, Luxury, and Premier. For added safety, all models now come equipped with AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control. Also new for 2005 is the optional Designer Series Package, which includes preferred suede interior trim, scuff plates, and 17-inch chrome wheels. New exterior paint choices for this year include Satellite Silver and Ivory Parchment Tri-Coat. Engine choices include a 4.0L V6 or 4.6L V8 producing 239 horsepower and 282 lbs-ft of torque. Available options on the Explorer include a DVD entertainment system, a Safety Canopy, a Reverse Sensing System, and an Audiophile sound system.
