Overview
Ford's mid-size SUV returns for this year with a few revisions. The Explorer is again available in 2WD or 4WD configurations, and in four trims: XLT, XLT Sport, Eddie Bauer, and Limited. For added safety, all models now come equipped with AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control. For 2005, the Explorer adds a standard stereo with MP3 capability and Sirius Satellite radio capability. Engine choices include a 4.0L V6 or 4.6L V8 producing 239 horsepower and 282 lbs-ft of torque. Standard amenities include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, fog lights, power driver seat, and power convenience features. Available options on the Explorer include a DVD entertainment system, a power moonroof, a Reverse Sensing System, and rear-seat climate control.
