Overview
For 2005, Volvo introduces the all-new V50 into the growing sportswagon segment. Available in three trims, 2.4i, T5, or T5 AWD, the V50 offers two powerful yet compact five-cylinder engines. The 2.4L version produces 168 horsepower, while the 2.5L Turbo boasts 218 horsepower and 236 ft-lbs of torque. Both powertrains are equipped with the five-speed adaptive automatic transmission, which allows versatility in its gear-changing. Maintaining its excellent reputation in safety, Volvo builds the V50 with Intelligent Vehicle Architecture (VIVA), a side impact protection system, whiplash protection, and the Volvo On-Call assistance system. The V50 also offers the new Keyless Drive feature, which allows keyless car entrance and engine starting.
