Overview

The Passat enters 2004 with only minor changes. It is available in sedan or wagon and in four different trim selections: GL, GLS, GLX, and W8. 4MOTION, Volkswagen's all-wheel drive system, is standard on all W8 models as well as being offered on the GLS and GLX trims. Wheels have been redesigned across all trims. Additionally, seatbelt and fuel cap warning features have been added to the standard equipment list. The Homelink garage door opener and the Monsoon sound system are now standard on the GLS. The GLX model receives new standard features as well, including Electronic Stabilization and OnStar Telematics. Paint combinations have been revised for this year. The GLS V6 model has been discontinued.
