Overview
The E-Class returns for this year with the same five models, E320, E500 in sedan and wagon body styles, and E55 AMG sedan. The wagons return this year with a fresh new look, in keeping with the redesigned sedans. For 2004, all models except the E55 AMG, can be equipped with the 4MATIC AWD system and a four-zone Automatic Climate Control system is optional for E320 models. The E55 AMG is powered by a 469-horsepower supercharged V8 capable of propelling it from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds. To further enhance the AMG's performance, the five-speed automatic transmission features AMG Speedshift technology and the suspension is sport-tuned for superior handling. For 2004, three Designo packages are once again available.
