Overview
The SL-Class returns this year with three models available: the SL500, SL55 AMG, and the new SL600. All three feature a power retractable hardtop that transforms the coupe into a convertible roadster in 16 seconds. The SL500 is equipped with a 5.0L 302-hp V-8 while the limited production SL55 AMG features a handbuilt, supercharged V-8 boasting 493 hp and 516 lb.-ft. of torque. The SL600 is powered by a twin turbocharged V-12 that produces 493 hp and a full 590 lb.-ft. of torque. The SL500 gets a new seven speed automatic transmission, while the SL55 and SL600 are coupled to an electronically controlled five-speed automatic with fingertip manual mode and SpeedShift programs. Both the SL55 and SL600 can reach 60 mph in 4.5 seconds.
