Overview

For 2004 the Altima is available in seven models - 2.5 (Base) and 2.5 S in either manual and automatic, SL, and 3.5 SE in manual and automatic. For this year the Altima comes with power windows and locks, speed-sensitive power steering, tilt/scope steering wheel, and LATCH safety restraint system. All 2.5 models features a standard 4-cylinder 175 hp engine while the 3.5 models feature a 245 hp V6 engine. Options on the Altima include ABS brakes, leather seats (standard on SL), side impact airbags, and rear spoiler. For nine years in a row, Ward's AutoWorld and Ward's Vehicle and Technology Update has presented Nissan with a 10 Best Engines award for the V6 engine that powers the 3.5 SE, Murano, 350Z and Maxima and Pathfinder.
