Overview
The Excursion returns for the 2004 model year with little change to the interior and exterior. A few of the trims have been renamed. The base model XLT is now the XLS and the XLT premium is now simply an XLT. The Excursion is available in four model trims: XLS, XLT, Eddie Bauer, and Limited in 2WD or 4WD configurations. A new 6.0L Power Stroke V-8 turbo diesel engine producing 325hp and 560 lbs./ft. of torque is available on all models. The trip computer and power quarter rear windows have been removed from the standard Comfort and Convenience Package of the XLT and placed in an optional XLT Travel Package. Options include an limited slip rear axle, rear seat DVD entertainment system, and power heated trailer tow mirrors with newly integrated turn signals and clearance lights.
