Overview
The S-Type, re-freshened last year, returns for 2004 as a carryover model. It is again available in three trims: 3.0L, 4.2L V8, and R, which has a supercharged 4.2L V8 boasting 390 horsepower. The 3.0 base now features a standard six-speed automatic, while the five-speed manual becomes a no-charge option. Also new for this year is the optional adaptive speed control, as well as the availability of non-standard paint. Other options include a power glass moonroof, xenon headlamps, a DVD-based Navigation system, a six-disc CD changer, and heated front seats. The optional Sport Package adds sport-tuned suspension, upgraded alloy wheels, perforated leather sport bucket seats, and wood and chrome trim.
