Overview
Similar to BMW's MINI, Toyota introduces a new car brand in Scion. It will be introduced first to California and then expand to other markets in February of 2004. The xA, Scion's subcompact hatchback, features a 108 horsepower 1.5L engine, anti-lock brakes, sport seats, and power convenience features. It is available in the standard five-speed manual or optional four-speed automatic. Unique features include a metal-tone instrument panel, black-on-white gauges, extra storage bins, a cargo cover, and a first aid kit. The xA also comes with a standard CD radio that is able to play MP3 files, as well as being satellite-radio ready. Standard front airbags are equipped, while side impact airbags can be equipped optionally.
