Overview
For 2003 Chevrolet has extended the Silverado line-up to include the performance oriented SS. The Silverado SS is powered by a high output version of the Vortec 6000 V8 producing 345 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. The engine features a new Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) and is mated to a four-speed automatic overdrive transmission. Standard features include full-time all-wheel-drive (AWD), Z60 High Performance Chassis Package, and 20-inch five-spoke polished aluminum wheels. Safety features include passenger sensing front air bag system and a dual-level air-bag system with sensing diagnostic module (SDM). Dual zone automatic climate control, in-dash six-disc CD changer, and an OnStar system are optional.
