Overview
The 2003 Volkswagen GTI is available in two hatchback models: GTI 1.8L and GTI VR6. The GTI 1.8L is powered by a 180-hp turbo gas engine and the GTI VR6 is powered by a 2.8L 200-hp gas engine. The GTI 1.8L can be coupled with either the standard five-speed manual transmission or the optional five-speed automatic. The GTI VR6 only has the standard six-speed manual transmission. Optional packages for both models include the Cold Weather Package, the Leather Package, and the Luxury Package. Safety features euqipped on the vehicle include an anti-lock braking system, side impact door beams, side impact air bags, and child safety seat anchors. For added safety, the Electronic Stabilization Program is also available.
