Overview

The 2003 Durango continues from the previous model year with minor changes. The four-wheel drive models are the base Sport, SXT, SLT, SLT Plus, and R/T. New for 2003 are standard four-wheel disc brakes, larger standard 16-inch cast-aluminum wheels, 40/20/40 second-row seat, LATCH child safety seat anchors, upper-head impact protection, and Timberland Green and Light Almond exterior paint choices. The standard engine transmission combination for the Sport, SXT, SLT, and SLT Plus models is a 4.7L Magnum SOHC 235-hp V-8 engine and a five-speed transmission with overdrive. A 5.9L Magnum OHV 245-hp V-8 engine and a four-speed transmission with overdrive is standard on the R/T and are available for the SLT and SLT Plus models.
