Overview
The 2003 5-series remains available in sedan and wagon models. The moonroof is now standard on certain models. All sedans receive standard rear head airbags. The wheels on the 525i are replaced with an all-new 16-inch styling. For 2003, the rain sensor has been added to the Premium Package for the 525i models. Also new for this year, 540i sedans equipped with a six-speed transmission and the Sport Package will now include 18-inch wheels with staggered performance tires. The M Sport Package, which includes sport suspension, an aero kit, a black roofliner, and a footrest, is included in the Sport Package when ordered with the 540i sedan. Also available are rear door mounted side impact air bags for rear passengers.
