Overview

The 2003 Avalanche is available as either a 1/2-ton or a 3/4-ton and with two-wheel or four-wheel drive. Some of the new automatic aids featured for this model year include a passenger sensing air bag system and a battery rundown protection system. The passenger sensing air bag system automatically deactivates the passenger side air bag under certain conditions to protect children. The battery rundown protection system automatically turns off the headlamps and park lamps as well as the interior lights after 10 minutes. The North Face Edition package is tailored for the outdoor enthusiast and includes items such as two Summit Pod backpacks and Water Duffalo storage bags, 17-inch Aluminum wheels and a specially tuned suspension system.
